The company utilizes proprietary genetic engineering techniques to develop pathways via micro-algae to produce bioactive compounds. This well funded, pre-IPO start up was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in South San Francisco, CA.
Reporting to the President/COO, the Vice President will contribute to the strategic direction/growth of the company and hold the following functions: corporate strategy, business planning, market analysis, marketing, new product development/launch, and strategic business development. A priority is to implement a business plan for substantial sales within the next 12-18 months.
Candidate Requirements:  The incumbent will have experience with developing business models and plans in the chemicals, food ingredient, industrial biotechnology, energy, biofuel, or human therapeutic industries. A strong track record of securing strategic business partnerships is desired. An advanced technical degree is preferred and an MBA are highly desired.
